Friction Material Testing / Registration
NSF International knows the auto industry. We are addressing laws affecting the entire brake pad manufacturing industry by offering registration services to meet the new friction material requirements.
A number of state laws now require that friction materials be tested to ensure they meet regulations regarding their use of asbestos, copper, chromium, mercury and other materials. As an official registrar, NSF publicly lists tested friction materials that comply with state laws on our website and provides the required notifications to state agencies.
