Accreditations from esteemed organizations such as the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) (scc.ca), the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) (ansi.org), The ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) (anab.ansi.org) , and the International Accreditation Service (iasonline.org) underline NSF's commitment to upholding recognized national and international standards for third-party certification. Moreover, NSF laboratories across the globe hold ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for testing and calibration.
To further ensure our integrity, NSF and its affiliated companies are dedicated to impartiality in the execution of our certification, testing, inspection, registration, validation, and verification activities. Independent mechanisms, backed by robust corporate policies and procedures, manage conflicts of interest and guarantee the fairness and transparency of all our operations.

TIC Council Membership
NSF is a full member of the TIC Council – an international non-profit association (AISBL) acting as the voice of the testing, inspection and certification (TIC) industry. Born from the merger of former global TIC industry organizations, IFIA and CEOC, TIC Council brings together over 100 member companies and organizations active in more than 160 countries, spanning every continent.
Key Awards
Walter F. Snyder Environmental Health Award - Founded in 1971, the Snyder Award honors Walter F. Snyder, co-founder and first executive director of NSF, and individuals who, like him, pioneer environmental and public health through their careers. The award is presented annually by NSF and National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) after a rigorous selection process involving a nomination covering four categories of accomplishments, reviewed by five jurors.
NSF’s Food Safety Leadership Award - NSF’s Food Safety Leadership Award recognizes individuals and organizations for real and lasting improvements in food safety. Nominations are evaluated by the Food Safety Summit Educational Advisory Board, which is a volunteer group of industry leaders representing manufacturing, foodservice, regulatory, academia, retail and distribution. Award winners are then selected by NSF.
