Kelly Magurany
As Senior Manager of Toxicology, Kelly Magurany leads the global toxicology team at NSF. She also serves as the Secretary of the NSF Health Advisory Board and is responsible for instituting scientific rigor in the conduct of quantitative risk assessment.
Magurany is a board-certified toxicologist with nearly two decades of experience conducting human health risk assessments of chemicals in food, drinking water and consumer products. Since January 2018, she has actively authored or peer-reviewed more than 100 health-based guidance values for drinking water treatment chemicals and contaminants. She also consults in areas including safety and exposure evaluations for occupational and residential settings, with emphasis on consumer products, GRAS evaluations, food packaging and food processing chemistries. Prior to working for NSF, Magurany worked as a Principal Research Toxicologist for Conagra Foods and a Principal Toxicologist and Global Regulatory Leader for Nalco, an Ecolab Company.
Magurany holds a Master of Science in Forensic Toxicology from the University of Florida at Gainesville. She was board-certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology in 2014. She is an active member of the Society of Toxicology and participates in multiple working groups to advance the science of chemical risk assessment.
