We offer organic certification for beauty and body care products. Depending on your formulation, we can certify to the USDA NOP or to NSF/ANSI 305.

To support this demand, we offer third-party organic certification for beauty and body care products. Depending on your formulation, we can certify to the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) or to NSF/ANSI 305: Personal Care Products Containing Organic Ingredients.

What kinds of products are eligible for certification?

Certification is available for a wide range of personal care products, including:

What this means for consumers

The well-recognized NSF/ANSI 305 certification mark gives consumers the confidence that their personal care products contain a minimum organic content of 70% and that all other ingredients meet strict review criteria, such as being GMO-free. Based on NOP regulations, the NSF/ANSI 305 encourages manufacturers of personal care products to use organically grown ingredients within the supply chain. NSF/ANSI 305 certification is considered a best practice by the Organic Trade Association.

About this certification

NSF/ANSI 305 has the same structure, style, and intent as the USDA’s National Organic Program (NOP) yet allows certified organic ingredients to be processed using certain methods and preservatives that may not be allowed in organic or “made with organic” products under the NOP. These botanochemical processes and preservatives enable manufacturers to greatly increase the product’s efficacy and expand their line of personal care products containing organic ingredients. It also allows products containing non-food-grade organic ingredients to be certified.

Products certified to NSF/ANSI 305 can bear the NSF “contains organic ingredients” logo.

To help your products comply with the NSF/ANSI 305 standard, we offer both full formulation and single ingredient reviews. You will receive a letter of acceptance for all ingredients that are confirmed as compliant.
