PrimusGFS
Reduce food safety risks, improve farm management and meet retailer requirements with a PrimusGFS certification (ANAB Accredited, version 3.2).
PrimusGFS is the GFSI-recognised agricultural certification of reference in the North America and Latin America markets for growers, processors, packers and distributors of fresh or various forms of processed produce. NSF is accredited against ISO 17605 to offer PrimusGFS Certification (version 3.2).
Developed by Azzule Systems, PrimusGFS audits incorporate Food Safety Management System requirements and either Good Agricultural Practises (GAP) or Good Manufacturing Practises (GMP) depending on the type of operation.
The ability to generate a FSMA Specific Summary Sub-Report makes PrimusGFS a popular option among operators from Canada and Latin America who want to ship into the US.
On average, the PrimusGFS audit can take from half a day to a whole day for field audits, and from one to one and a half days for facility audits. Its score-based approach allows organisations to steadily improve their GMP, GAP and HACCP practises, while still meeting the base score needed for the certification.
The certificate is valid for one year (additional inspections may be required).
The Standard covers the following GFSI scopes: Farming of Plants, Farming of Grains and Pulses, Pre-processing Handling of Plant Products, Processing of Plant Perishable Products, Processing of Animal and Plant Perishable Products (Mixed Products), Processing of Ambient Stable Products, and Provision of Storage and Distribution Services.
