CBD Healthcare Company is First-Ever Personal Care Product to Earn NSF Certified for Sport®

In early 2024, NSF, a global public health and safety organization, announced CBDHCC earned certification to NSF Guideline 527 and NSF Certified for Sport® for its Broad Spectrum CBD Balancing Massage and Body Oil.

These certifications marked two major milestones: CBDHCC is NSF’s first client in the world to comply with NSF Guideline 527, which demonstrates the product formula meets strict limits and is free of unsafe levels of impurities and adulterants; it is also the first personal care product to earn certification to NSF Certified for Sport®.

CBDHCC CEO John Walsh began his career in aeronautical engineering, with a focus on rockets and jet engines and a background in mixing and solutions materials. After a move to Asia opened his eyes to the quality of therapeutic spas in resorts, he began a business that brought Asian wellness products to the U.S.

Over time, the business’ most popular product proved to be a herbal ball with 14 herbs used with oil to treat the lymphatic system. He became interested in how the massage protocol worked with the product to create relief.

CBDHCC believes its product is a complimentary protocol to massage. Massage protocols have become a component of the athletic training room and performance staff, enhancing soft tissue manipulation, cupping and deep tissue massage. Walsh is a University of Purdue graduate and sits on the advisory board of the College of Engineering, where he supports a grant to study the agriculture of hemp. His background in chemistry helped him understand the technical part of product development. When founding CBDHCC, he implemented a farming strategy and extraction technique for hemp to yield the best possible raw material profile for high performance and consistency for the product.
