NSF Launches NSF 229 Nutritional Supplements Product Certification

Shanghai, China – NSF, a global public health and safety organization, today launched NSF 229 Nutritional Supplements Product Certification (NSF 229 PCCN) in China. This product certification is based on China’s national food safety standards, retailer requirements, and industry best practices. This new program has been created to meet the demands of China's large nutritional supplement manufacturing industry and provide more high-quality nutritional supplement products to consumers when choosing reliable products.

NSF 229 Nutritional Supplement Product Certification is applicable to manufacturers, brand owners and dealers of functional food, beverage and nutritional supplement products. Product certification typically includes three steps – facilities GMP audit, product label audit and product testing. Obtaining NSF 229 PCCN means that the product meets both Chinese GMP and Chinese national food safety standards, as well as US GMP and industry best practices. It also demonstrates that the product has been tested and NSF has verified that its ingredients are safe and comply with the label claims. Brands or manufacturers can obtain both an English and a Chinese certificate with strong international applicability.
