NSF Peru Lab Has a Fresh New Look
This month, NSF’s Peru laboratory received a refresh with updated indoor and outdoor signage, rebranded vehicles, lab coats, and more introduced at the Lima location.
The NSF Peru laboratory offers testing capabilities in several market segments, including:
- Food - serving the agro-industrial and hydrobiological sectors, among others
- Pharma - providing services on the description and evaluation of the characteristics of medicines
- Water - conducted on various matrices of river water, groundwater and drinking water
- Sanitation services- primarily supporting large food companies in Peru
Since its acquisition in 2013, the laboratory has operated under the name NSF INASSA. Its new name and branding as the NSF Peru Laboratory ensures consistency with NSF’s Global Laboratory Division.
The rebranding is more than just a name change, with the business and its 160 team members now oriented towards growth, led by a new Managing Director (Ricardo Velarde) and supported by significant new investments in the business.
In May, the laboratory will install a new state-of-the-art Agilent Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) instrument which will expand the laboratory service offering to provide a full suite of metal analyses for our food and water clients. Significant technology upgrades in our LIMS platform are also slated for later in the year, which will ensure improved efficiencies for our team members and an improved end service offering for our clients.
“The NSF Peru laboratory continues to grow and expand, fueled by our excellent technical talent and highly experienced laboratory resources,” said Scott Morris, Vice President of Global Laboratories, NSF. These recent investments underscore our commitment to providing an excellent experience for our clients and align with our broader goals to expand both our presence and positive impact within the LATAM marketplace.”
NSF has an established network of laboratories throughout North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia, with a professional staff of engineers, microbiologists, toxicologists, chemists, public health experts, and certification specialists. NSF labs worldwide are accredited to ISO/IEC 17025. Labs provide a wide range of testing, certification and technical services across all major industries, including ingredient identity, purity and quality analysis and bioanalytical research.
