CDP Reporting
Demonstrate your commitment to a more sustainable future for people and planet
Demand is accelerating for organizations of all kinds to disclose their environmental impact on climate, forests and water.
Over the last 25 years, the Climate Disclosure Project – now known as CDP – has become one the of the leading global environmental disclosure systems, used by financial institutions and supply chains to inform their decision-making.
The number of organizations measuring and disclosing their environmental data through the CDP questionnaire is growing each year. Recent disclosure cycle data shows that more than 24,800 companies, worth two-thirds of global marked capitalization, uploaded reports to the CDP platform. This includes over 12,500 companies who disclosed through the CDP’s new SME questionnaire.1

What is CDP reporting?
The CDP began as a way for organizations to disclose their climate impact. It has since expanded to include deforestation and water security. While CDP reporting is voluntary, financial institutions and supply chains, representing $ trillions in value, are requesting that companies disclose their environmental impacts through the CDP.2
Why participate in CDP disclosure?
Annual CDP disclosure reporting supports the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals of companies, cities, and regions. It helps them to benchmark and track progress, identify risks and opportunities, and build trust. The data gathered helps investors – and procurers – to make decisions that support the transition to a low-carbon future.
CDP score
The CDP uses an independent scoring methodology to measure the progress in three areas: climate change, water security and forest management. Scores range from D- to A, and an F is a failure to submit. By completing the CDP questionnaire annually, organizations can work to improve their CDP score.
